02/14/09 - 1982 Black Harmony (Fricke) Auto Knitter -- SORRY!-SOLD
Excellent 1982 Black Harmony (Fricke) Auto Knitter (serial #82266), with the standard 60-slot cylinder and 30-slot ribber dial that
normally came with a new machine. Guaranteed working machine. Everything needed to start knitting is included, unless you
want to eliminate the optional accessories and deduct $75.00 from the price.
The price is $1295, shipping included for destinations in the continental US only. Email for a shipping quote for other
destinations.
Table not included. It is a Black & Decker Portable Work Mate table, Model #WM-125, found at many hardware stores and
do-it-yourself centers. It is inexpensive, quite light, easy to put together, gives you some surface area for tools and accessories,
and is convenient to clamp your machine onto (although not extremely sturdy).
The pictures show a basic sock being knit with 1x1 selvedge, 1x1 and 3x1 ribbed leg, and stockinette ankle and foot. They also
show most of the adjustments set as needed for this machine. The recommended yarns for learning to make socks on CSMs
are fingering weight (approximately 2000 to 2500 yards per pound) wool blends, wool or acrylic. You will find it extremely
frustrating to use cotton or cotton blend yarns (or anything that is stiff and has no 'give') while learning.
